Sessions are held in Campus Recreation, Kinesiology Building, University of Calgary.
Campus Recreation is located in the Kinesiology building, on the west side of campus. When in the building, you must present your ID at the Equipment Room (Kinesiology Building A-104, see map) to obtain a wristband to access any of the facilities. Click here for a map. The University of Calgary is located just off 24th /32nd Ave NW, between Crowchild Tr. (Brentwood Mall) and Shaganappi Tr. (Market Mall). You may enter the University campus from both 24th and 32nd Ave.

If you are entering campus on the north side, parking is available 10, 11 and 12. There are also meter lots (9, 16) on the north side of the Olympic Oval. If you are coming from the south, lot 3 would be the closest for both drop-off and parking. Lot 3 has meter parking as well as evening/weekend parking. The Arts Parkade, south of the Kinesiology Complex, has evening and weekend parking as well. Morning and evening annual parking passes (for general public and Alumni annual members only) are available. Inquire at the Campus Recreation main office.
Meters are available for short term parking needs at a variety of locations on Campus.
Mon to Fri day-time hours. There are 4 paylots available these are lots 10, 11, 22, and 32. All paylots operate on a per-entry basis. There are two Parkades available for Public Parking, MacEwan Students' Centre and The Art Parkade.

The road bends to the left. Turn left at the stop sign and park at one of the meters (weekends free, weeknights expensive). The dojo is in the Combatives Room of the Athletics Centre.
The Gladstone Shorinji Kan Jiu Jitsu dojo is located in downtown Ottawa and has classes 3 times per week. The club instructors are Kieran Parsons, Nidan, Chris Whynot, 1st kyu and by Yoshie Martinez, 1st kyu.
There are adult and junior's classes. The junior class is open to anyone from the ages 8 to 16. It approximately follows the adult syllabus but is adapted to an appropriate level for the age range. Our Juniors learn an appropriate level of defence against armed and unarmed opponents, striking, and falling techniques, in a controlled environment. Since bodies at this age are still developing, certain techniques, such as locks, are performed to position only, to protect growing bones and joints.

Andy began his jiu jitsu training at Plymouth Polytechnic (now Plymouth University) in Plymouth, England, in 1985 under the instruction of Simon Leehane Sensei. In 1988 he became the club instructor of the University of Plymouth Samurai Jiu Jitsu Club, a position he held until 1992.
In August 1993 he moved to Peterborough, Ontario, Canada and established Jitsu Canada's first club at Trent University. In September 1998 Andy decided the time was right for an additional club in Peterborough, and the Peterborough YMCA agreed to host the club.

Chris began his jiu jitsu training at Trent University in Peterborough in September 1995 under Andy Dobie Sensei. In September 1999 he moved to Kingston and established a jiu jitsu club at Queen's University. Chris has been the instructor of the Queen's Jiu Jitsu Club ever since. Chris holds current St John Ambulance Standard First Aid and CPR certificates. He has also completed National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) Level 1. In addition to jiu jitsu, Chris has also studied taekwondo, karate, hapkido, judo and Tai Chi Chuan. He is known throughout Jitsu Canada as Thumper.

Kieran is the instructor of the Gladstone Jiu Jitsu club. He started training at Bristol University, England in 1990. In 1997 Kieran moved to Ottawa and continued training at the YMCA Jiu Jitsu dojo. In 2000 he became the instructor of the Carleton University club, where he stayed until December 2002.
After a couple of years travelling he has decided that the time is right to open another club in Ottawa.
Kieran has also been training in Taekwon-Do for the last year or so at Ly's Taekwon-Do dojang.
Kieran holds current St John Ambulance Standard First Aid and CPR Level "C" certificates. He has also completed National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) Level 1.

Jonathan Jamnik began his training in January of 2000 at Carleton University under Sensei John Molyneux Nidan. In the summer of 2000, and subsequently during the next two summers, he trained at the Ottawa Metro YMCA under Sensei Colin Welburn Shodan. In September of 2000 he returned to Carleton University and began training with Sensei Kieran Parsons Shodan.
In December of 2002 he had the privilege of instructing at the Ottawa Metro YMCA club and taught there until August 2005.
In the summer of 2004, while living in Plymouth, England, he trained at the University of Plymouth Samurai Jiu Jitsu Club under Sensei Mark Browne Shodan. During that time he also trained at the China Fleet Club in Cornwall under Sensei Greg Regan Sandan, founder of the Ryu Ju Jutsu Association.
On September 25th 2004, during the last Dan grading held by the late Brian Graham Shihan, founder of Shorinji Kan Jiu Jitsu, he was one of five to be awarded his black belt.
In September 2005 he assumed the position of instructor at the Carleton University club, where he continues to teach to this day.

Stu began his Jiu Jitsu career at the Queen's University Club in Kingston and trained there for several years under Chris Brooks Sensei. Upon graduation in 2005, he moved to England and began training under Nigel Price Sensei and Nicola Price Sensei at the King's College Club in London. Stu returned to Canada in 2006 and resumed training in Kingston under Chris Brooks Sensei and Mark Yourkevich Sensei. Stu opened his own club in Kingston at St. Lawrence College, where he has been teaching since 2008.

Yoshie is the instructor of the children's classes at the Gladstone club. She started training at Carleton University in September 2001. She has since trained at the YMCA Jiu Jitsu dojo and the Gladstone Jiu Jitsu club.
She became the Assistant Instructor for the children’s classes in June 2005, and became the Instructor in August 2005.
